Braided Mint

Ingredients

1 ¼ Pound Sugar

⅛ Teaspoon Cream of Tartar

1 Cup Water

8 Drops of Peppermint Oil

 

Directions

Add Sugar, Cream of tartar, and water to a pot and cook to 275 degrees. Pour onto an oiled slab, when cold, pull vigorously. Add peppermint oil a little at a time while pulling. Spin out three stripes about ½ inch thick and braid together. Cut in 4 inch pieces. Wrap in wax paper and place in a crock. Place a damp cloth over the crock and let stand for three days. Mint Braids will be soft and creamy.
